I’m lining up on the start line like a condemned man, in the warm up I could hardly break a 7min mile. And here I am, expecting to run 10 miles at 5.20 miling with teammate Tom, and then make our move from there.

I have been growing my beard. A few reasons. Firstly, the weather outside has been pretty tough, and my having a gnarly beard makes me feel a bit tougher too, and up to the task of going out there and getting my run done.
I am hoping to run a 100 mile week this week, without my wife noticing. She usually notices because I am no longer around as much, and when I am around, I am just eating. Or watching movies. Usually both.
Where have I been for the past 2 weeks? Okay, 3 weeks. Our wee family went on holiday to South France for a week. I kinda like to believe that I live such an amazing, interesting and fulfilling life, that I shouldn’t need a holiday. But, when we got out there, we realised, we really needed it.
After Telford 10km I decide to have a week off. I am feeling abit jaded, mentally more than physically. The following week I get a cold, so 1 week becomes too. Fine. I am quite happy to discover this is my first cold for almost 2 years, and that last time, I still ran 100 miles.
