Where have I been for the past 2 weeks? Okay, 3 weeks. Our wee family went on holiday to South France for a week. I kinda like to believe that I live such an amazing, interesting and fulfilling life, that I shouldn’t need a holiday. But, when we got out there, we realised, we really needed it.
Such an amazing luxury for me, to roll out of bed at 8am, mildly hungover, go run 10-15 easy miles as the sun rises by the Pyrenees, then come back to coffee, pain au chocolat, and a whole day of sweetness with my wife and kids.
On returning home, lots of little life problems are waiting for me. None of them too serious on their own, but together, have really conspired to leave me very pressed for time. Lots of machines have been failing me.
I try to treat dysfunctional machines the way I treat my injuries…
Leave it alone and it will fix itself.
Be nice to it and it will be nice to you.
For some reason, this approach doesn’t work with machines.
I hate machines.
And I love my body (which is not a machine).
Hoping things have settled down enough now that I can get back into a more regular routine and get back to posting every week.
Non-running Related Highlight Of The 3 Weeks
We are sitting around the dinner table, on holiday, when we tell the kids we are going to walk up to the castles tomorrow. El, announces “I will walk up to the castles all by myself”. We smile and encourage her, but we know she won’t make it. It is a serious hike.
Ofcourse, she proves us wrong. With poise and elegance and a sense of fun that is just inspiring. So brilliant to be taught a lesson by your 2 year old. “And now these steps!”.
Best Thing On The Internet
I get annoyed when people complain about the process that produces the outcome. It is part of the deal, so just swallow it. But this is my blog so I don’t care. This here 1 MINUTE of footage has been a complete nightmare to create. 2 months of painstaking work. I have been through 4 drones to get to this point. Crashes, calibrations, mishaps, reams of instructions, learning 3 types of morse code, and I’ve barely started with how complicated drone flying is. Hopefully I am just getting the hang of it. Below is my first serious attempt. Hope you like it.
